Trusted physician and innovative entrepreneur, Dr. Julianne Adams Birt, is transforming lives and redefining the industry with her signature brand of traditional healthcare with holistic flair. Affectionately known as “Dr. Ju,” she is the consummate professional. An accomplished Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Ju is spearheading a new movement in women’s health. A champion for patient education and awareness, she is leading the conversation on female sexual dysfunction, fertility and empowered living. Driven by her sincere passion for people, Dr. Ju’s touch and influence extend way beyond the examination room.

Born and raised in Harrisburg, PA, Dr. Ju moved to Atlanta to attend Clark Atlanta University in 1991. After graduation, she decided to follow in her parents’ footsteps as an educator and taught high school science and health in the Atlanta Public School System. She then went on to attend Morehouse School of Medicine and graduated in 2001. Dr. Ju returned to Pennsylvania to complete her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She served as Chief Resident and became the first African-American female to graduate this program since its inception in the 1960s. Dr. Ju returned to Georgia and began practice in DeKalb County.

Once a timid little girl, Dr. Ju has continued to blossom into a vocal but focused leader. She served as Vice-chief of the OB/GYN Department at DeKalb Medical – Hillandale within her first year of practice and then became the Chief of that department. She is currently the Chief of Women’s Health Services at Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers, GA. In these roles, she continues to ensure quality care for patients by participating in various hospital committees. Board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, she has been a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 2009. Beyond the local hospital community, she also actively participates in the Atlanta Medical Association as an Executive Board member and is a member of the Artemis Medical Society and the National Medical Association. Dr. Ju is a committed community servant and since fall 2013 is the Medical Director for the Refuge Pregnancy Center in Rockdale County. The owner and founder of Radiant Women’s Health, an OB/GYN practice located in Conyers, GA, she has committed her life to the improvement and implementation of quality care for all women.

She has worked as a featured speaker for an international pharmaceutical company as well as numerous health and wellness programs and health fairs. Conducting various seminars and speaking to teens, women and families across metro Atlanta, Dr. Ju believes “to whom much is given, much is required.” Since 1996 she volunteers as an interpreter for the Deaf. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., a supporter of local schools, churches and organizations, a mentor to many, Dr. Ju’s commitment to edifying others and encouraging them to be their best selves is evident in everything she does.

Dr. Ju enjoys her one-on-one time with patients of Radiant Women’s Health. She seeks to provide her patients with choices as healthcare should be individualized. Educating and empowering women is not a job but her passion. Her other passion is her family. She and her husband are the parents of six and grandparents of one. They are all football fans but her loyalties are to the Atlanta Falcons.
