Dr.Torsten Pieper

Dr. Torsten Pieper is assistant professor of management at the Michael J. Coles College of Business and research director at the Cox Family Enterprise Center at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA (USA). His research is in the areas of family business and strategic management. His primary research focuses on family cohesion, corporate governance, and longevity of family firms. Dr. Pieper’s research has won international awards and has been published in a variety of scholarly outlets including Family Business Review, Journal of Small Business Management, and Small Business Economics.

He is Assistant Editor of the new Elsevier title Journal of Family Business Strategy, an Elsevier publication, and board member of IFERA, The International Family Enterprise Research Academy. Born in Germany, Dr. Pieper comes from a family business and was educated internationally. He is fluent in German, English, and French and holds Master of Science degrees from The University of the Saarland (Germany) and EM LYON School of Business (France), and a Ph.D. from European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel (Germany).
