Fred Perpall, AIA, LEED AP, Managing Principal Fred Perpall is Managing Principal and Director of Design for the Eastern Division of Beck. His responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of Beck’s Eastern Division Design and Integrated Practice, as well as strategy for the division and Business Development. Fred also chairs Beck’s Promise Council, which oversees the company’s brand strategy. As co-leader of Beck’s Long Term Planning process, Fred championed a refreshed strategy for Beck, which calls for expansion of the integrated project delivery process, an extension of Beck’s International services into Latin America and the Caribbean over the next 10 years, and broader investments in Technology and Sustainability.

Fred’s Career at Beck includes a broad range of projects including higher education, religious, athletic, recreational, sustainability and healthcare in domestic and international markets. Most recently Fred led the company’s expansion into his native country, the Bahamas, bridging the experience he has gained internationally with the domestic needs in the Bahamas and Caribbean at large.

Known for his creative mind and innovative thinking, Fred brings a highly energetic and communicative style to his clients, projects and the Beck family. Fred’s leadership philosophy has been shaped during his 10-year tenure at Beck and through his experience in athletics, various ministries and civic organizations. Fred believes in empowering people around him, facilitating a vision that encompasses everyone and that drives the mission of the organization, and by giving the resources necessary to accomplish the tasks at hand. His personal philosophy is consistent with the values of Beck, which has been awarded twice by Fortune magazine as a “Top 20 Places to Work”, and most recently by Georgia Trend as one of “Georgia’s 15 Best Places to Work.”

Beck’s corporate headquarters are in Dallas, TX and the company employs 700 people nationally. The Eastern Division is managed in Atlanta, while other offices are in Houston, Denver, Mexico City, and Cabo San Lucas. Last year, the company volume was nearly $850 M in projects.

Outside of the office, Fred serves various roles on several committees and boards. Among them he is a Fellow at the Baker Institute – a think tank at Rice University’s school of public policy, a member of the Executive Committee for the Urban Land Institute, the Director of Advocacy for the American Institute of Architects-Georgia, the Board Chair for Urban Plan-Atlanta, and a board member for the Center of Creative Inquiry. Fred is also a member of Vistage, the world’s largest CEO membership organization.

Fred received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design and master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds two certificates in Design and Communication Strategy from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard.

Fred is a native of Nassau, Bahamas. He and his wife Abi currently live intown with their two daughters, Ava and Ali.
