Biographical Information on Mr. Hector Romero

Hector Romero immigrated to the United States from Cuba in 1962, settling in The Miami area, where he attended Miami Dade College and Florida International University

He joined the Miami Branch of The Federal Reserve Bank in 1971 through 1978 in The Fiscal Agency, check collection and computer systems operation.

He accepted a position at Delta Airlines in 1978, primarily focusing in International Air Freight His last assignment was Cargo Coordinator Sales and Service Latin America and Asia.

He was on assignment for two month in 1997 spearheading Delta Airlines Cargo initiative in Brazil during the startup of operations concentrating in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro

After joining the Latin America Region in 1999 the region grew in revenues from several Millions of dollars to 26 million in 2002

In April 2003 he retired from Delta and immediately joined Atlanta Customs Brokers as Consultant for Latin America and the Far East

Hector in 1997 attained the highly coveted Customs Brokers License from the United States Customs Service and Border Protection. He has completed the International Requisite required by The International Air Transport Association. (IATA) In 2006 he received from the Independent Freight Forwarders and Customs House Broker Association the designation of a Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)

He has been a guest speaker at the Minority Business Enterprise Week Conference in Washington D.C. with primary emphasis on import regulations and logistics.

The Association of Salvadorian Couriers’ based in El Salvador, and at the invitation of the State Government of Sonora, Mexico. He gave a presentation in Hermosillo, Mexico on how to export from Mexico to the US.

He has given presentation to the Georgia AGOA Commission, Delta Air Lines Cargo Latin America and Asia Regions, the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce, Minority Business Development Enterprise Conference at the World Trade Center in Atlanta, The Peruvian American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, the Women Economic and Development Agency (WEDA) the Mexican American Business Chamber of Commerce, Georgia State University International Business School and to various visiting delegations, and the 2013 Georgia Logistics Summit.

He has previously taught International Business Classes on Imports and Exports in Spanish to the Hispanic Community in Metro Atlanta at the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic American Center for Economic Development (HACED)

He is a member of (IFFCHBA) Independent Freight Forwarders and Customs Broker Association of Atlanta, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, (ACP) the Association of Chinese Professionals, (NACA) The National Association of Chinese American, and (AOP) Air Ocean Partners, C5C an industry oriented worldwide Organization based in Germany,

In March 30th 2012 he resigned his position as Vice President and Customs Broker Licensed Holder to start his own company Operating out of a combined 11,000 sq. office warehouse facility located at 3540 Empire Boulevard South West, Atlanta Georgia 30354
