Jack Spicer MD.

Dr. Spicer is a board certified Family Physician with over eighteen years of experience in managed care. An Illinois native, he graduated with Honors from Illinois State Universuty (B.S., Chemistry) in 1977, and earned his M.D. degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 1980. Residency training was received through the Grand Rapids Family Practice Residency Program in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and he maintained an active practice for seven years in Grand Haven, Michigan.

In 1983 Dr. Spicer first passed his Family Practice boards, and he has maintained his board certification status by successfully passing three additional recertification examinations since 1983. Since 1989 he has held medical director positions with Priority Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan (formerly Butterworth HMO). He moved to Atlanta in 1992 and has held medical director positions with Travelers, DeKalb PHO, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia. He has been employed by Aetna as their Georgia market medical director Atlanta since 2001. Dr. Spicer holds active licenses in Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama, and Oklahoma and enjoys running, gardening, flying, home remodeling, and World War II history in his free time. He is active with his church’s mission work, participating in numerous Habitat for Humanity builds and gone on ten international mission trips.
