Samuel A. Shepard Jr. was born in Philadelphia, PA. in September of 1958. At the age of eight, he moved with his mother and sister to Atlanta, where he attended Oglethorpe Elementary. Although he began high school at O’Keefe High, which he attended for two years, he received his high school diploma from North Fulton High School in 1976. After high school, Sam went to Morehouse College for 3 years. While attending school, he began working at Eastern Airlines in the customer service department as a baggage handler. In 1981, after 4 years, Sam left Eastern to pursue a career in financial services. He subsequently became one of the top Senior National Sales Directors with Primerica Financial Services and was the first African-American in the company to earn over $1 million in income in one year.

Sam currently has 35 offices in 14 states and he mentors and is responsible for over 1000 Primerica representatives. Sam has had numerous accomplishments in Primerica, including being named the company MVP on several occasions. In fact, He was MVP of the company just last year.

Although Sam has been blessed in his business, he is even more blessed in his family life. He and his wife, Elaine Shepard, have been happily married for 9 years. He also has 3 wonderful sons, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson: Sam III and Anneke Marshall, Shawn, and Sam IV.

Above all, nothing is more important to Sam than his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He gives all the glory and honor to God for everything that he has accomplished. Sam has been a member of The Church, located in Duluth, GA, since 2006 under the leadership of his pastors, Jasper Williams III & Alicia Williams. He has served as a minister in the church for three years and serves on The Life Team.
