Mr. Smith entered the commercial real estate industry in 1983 with Atlanta Air Center Realty under the tutelage of Thomas W. Tift, Jr. Now with more than 28 years of real estate experience, Mr. Smith specializes in representing tenants and users in achieving their office space, business park and build-to-suit objectives nationally and internationally. He has represented clients taking space in several million square feet of office and industrial buildings, thousands of acres of land and over half a billion dollars in value.

Prior to starting TDS & Co, Mr. Smith was the first African American with Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia and he pioneered the brokerage division for H.J. Russell & Company.

A 1986 graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Mr. Smith is now an active member of the Georgia State University Foundation Board where he serves on the Real Estate Committee. He has served on the Diversity Committees of Corenet, International Development Research Council (IDRC) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

He is a founding member of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors, creator of Commercial Real Estate 101, by T. Dallas Smith and frequent guest lecturer of the Empire Real Estate Board and Georgia State University. Mr. Smith has been certified as a specialist in Cost and Price Analysis of Leasing Proposals, Federal Real Property Lease Law and Real Property Leasing by the Federal Government. Mr. Smith was hand picked as one of Atlanta’s seasoned and most well respected brokers by the Atlanta Business Chronicle to Blog for it Commercial Real Estate Blog “Real Talk” that launched in 2010.
