Quilla Bohannon

Humanitarian of The Year Award

Company: FreeWigs4kids

She has turned her passion for creating hair styles and wigs into a crusade to help children of all nationalities who have lost their hair due to various medical conditions.

This Douglasville, Georgia mother is on a mission to add smiles and give a self esteem boost to those children who have been bullied or feel different from other children because of their hair loss. Quilla often uses her young daughter’s head as a mold to complete the wigs. Because she is a mom, her heart goes out to the mothers and children and she builds a bond with each family as she creates their child’s hair dreams.

Many of the children’s families are already paying for expensive medical treatments, but Quilla’s free wigs make it more possible to bring some joy to the children, and the parents, as they go through this painful stage to recovery from cancer or hair loss due to Alopecia. Beauty is priceless, so if hair is the answer to make a child feel good and boost their self esteem, Quilla will make it happen at no charge to the families.

Although the wigs for the children are free, it does cost money for the hair and supplies needed to make the wigs. Quilla is thrilled that other’s like what she is doing for these children and the community has offered donations for her to continue to provide the wigs free to the children that need them. Please assist her by donating to her Go Fund Me account.
