Tony Orr believes that all young people deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential, and he works every day to ensure that more kids get a chance to succeed. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Tony looked for an opportunity to make a difference, and he found it at the Boys & Girls Clubs where “Building Great Futures Start Here.” Tony advocates the “It Just Takes One” philosophy which teaches communities that “It
Just Takes One” to open a door and put a child on the path to a great future.
Through creating and implementing Boys & Girls Club programs, Tony has impacted the development of character and leadership skills of thousands of at-risk youth across the Southeast. He has held leadership positions in Operations and Resource Development at Clubs in North Carolina and Florida.
At the Boys & Girls of Collier County, FL, whose programs serve more than 3,000 youth annually, Tony held leadership positions as VP of Resource Development and Chief Operating Officer. He is currently the Regional Vice President, Resource Development Southeast Region for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the premier youth development organization in the USA.
Tony says his vision and passion for young people is best described by a quote of Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
